THE ANNOUNCEMENT AND SCREENSHOTS.
New add-on called In the Wake of Gods (WoG) is a logical sequel from
Heroes III world to Heroes IV. All previous stories (ER, AB and SoD)
are behind and you have to make only last step to leave Erathia and
come to new world in Heroes IV.
The WoG has not only new campaigns but also a lot of other changes.
- Towns demolition and rebuilding. Now you can destroy towns and
when it is completely broken in little while you can rebuild it from
emptiness changing or leaving its type. The town demolition may be
done in two ways. First, through the ERM (for the future, you can do
ALL through the ERM) command. But second depends on a player. The way
to do it is the same as a town improvement. Just brake instead of
build. Of course, there are some rules to protect a town from
demolition in some cases (when it makes sense). There is also a
dependency of demolition sequence. Some buildings may be broken at any
time, others depend. You can change the town type only after complete
demolition and not immediately. And this may be only the native Hero's
speciality (although there is a new Hero's speciality - Builder that
beside all allows to chose any town type). Completely broken town can
supply you with Ghosts (strongly changed from HeroesII) but only once.
Pictures (format JPG - from 150 up to 70 kb) are given on the next page to demonstrate all new features of destructions in details.
There are more than 20 new monsters. For example new Monsters of
eighth level.
New creatures - God's Representatives. They give you an
incremental bonus until you keep them as a stack in your army. The
longer you have them, the more bonus you have. When you lost them or
pass to another hero all bonuses are also lost.
Dynamical automated map changing (not only as decoration like
spreading and dying of fire but also as essence like objects placing
and removing, wondering monsters and so on).
New Creature Banks (with new properties) and dwellings are added
too.
You get new extreme abilities for creating your *personal* maps.
You can change a behavior of ANY object and create an object that
maybe visited from any decorative item like mountains or trees.
You can add your own dialogues with multiple choices, your own
external graphic (BMPs or AVIs), ask a gamer to enter a text that you
can use then at any place in any way.
You can *transfer* much more information now from one map to
another inside one campaign.
You can set your own style of the map. Not only a strategical map
but also RPG or even Quest.
You can protect your map from changing or viewing by anyone else
in map editor (the map still will be playable :).
